Maynara National Park

One Day Expedition

Lake Manyara is one of the most beautyfull National Parks of Tanzania, surrounded by lush jungle vegetation, this lake is habitat of lots of wildlife, and its home of more of 2 million of water birds, probably the biggest population of flamingos that you will see in Tanzania, its also home of more than 390 species of birds, including lesser flamingo, greater flamingo, great white pelican, yellow billed stork, marabaou stork and grey heron and over 40 species of preybirds including palm nut vulture, and Ayres hawk eagle, on wet season is when we have more chances to observe birds, while in dry season we would be able to observe more mammals.

 

Why Lake Manyara NAtional Park is such an Amazing Place?

 Manyara National Park is home of a large variety of herbivores including zebra, bushbuck, waterbuck, Grant's gazelle, impala, Thomson's gazelle, Cape buffalo, giraffe, hippopotamus, baboon, warthog, and elephant and is home of several predators that include lion, leopard, african wild cat, spotted hyena, black-backed jackal, bat-eared fox, serval, honey badger, African civet, genet (Genetta) species and several mongoose species.  African golden cat are sighted occasionally, however some of this populations are moving looking for water from Tarangire, specially in dry season, and is a bit hard to spot them sice the lush jungle vegetation that surrounds the lake , also Manyara is home of the famous unique tree climbing lions and is the place the artists of the lion king animated movie got inspired to draw the jungle of Timon and Pumba that apears on the movie.

 

 

How we reccomend to visit Maynara National Park?

Depending on the time of the year Maynara National Park will offer different activities and things to do, however is possible to do it in half day and combine the visit of this park with other parks like Tarangire National Park or Ngorongoro Crater Conservation Area, however if you like monkeys, birds, jungle and beautyful landscapes,  you probably would like to spend an entire day in this beautyfull place, whatever you choose we highly reccomend to visit this national park and enjoy its amazing nature.

  • BEST BEST BEST We are group of friends and wanted to see Serengeti and Ngorongoro. After searching and communicating with bunch of companies, we chose this one and we have no regrets 馃檪 First, communication was fast and without any problem. They were waiting for us in Arusha airport and left us in the aiport on our way back again. It was taking care of us the whole time.
