Tarangire, with many African Elephants per square kilometers than any other national park in the Tanzania, lies about 120Km southwest of Arusha City. The Park got its name from Tarangire River that flows through the centre of the Park and form the dry season refuge for wildlife especially elephants!

 

 It is in this Park that visitors will be able to see threatened as well as endangered species ofsuch as ebony trees, python, cheetah, elephants, African wild dogs, lesser and greater Kudu, Beisa Oryx, Gerenuk and others Birdlife in Tarangire is just Amazing !

 About 550 species of birds have been recorded in the park, which is larger number of bird species than the famous Serengeti, also Tarangire National Park is one of the best places to do sustainable and ecofriendly safari tours from arusha.

Why Tarangire is so Amazing Place?

Besides the incredible amount of wildlife in Tarangire, we would find some of the most amazing landscapes and beautyfull sightseen Safaris of Tanzania, this is one ofthe places where the artists of The Lion King Movie took inspiration for the famous disney movie and most visitors love the distinct shapes of the baobab trees silhouetted against the sky that make this place feel like a fairy-tale African landscape. Or visitors remember the elephants that roam in family bands everywhere throughout the park. If you re lucky, youll also encounter the big cats  lions especially, but also cheetahs and leopards “ that are always a possibility here. And theres a fair degree of certainty that you will tick wildebeest, giraffe, hippo, buffalo and zebra off your wildlife-viewing list.

 

 

Wich Wildlife we would find in Tarangire National Park?

Tarangire National Park has the second highest concentration of wildlife in Tanzania after Serengeti National Park. Some of the animals you can look for on safari in Tarangire are: bush elephants, crocodiles, lions, hippos, leopards, cheetahs (rarely seen), African buffaloes, hyenas (rarely seen), zebras, giraffes, African wild dogs (also called painted dogs), bat-eared foxes, warthogs, jackals and more than 500 different species of birds, with some luck you will be able to observe some amazing behaviours of these animals in their natural habitat and in a sustainable way

Tarangire 1 Day Trip Safari Expedition

Tarangire National Park in a place that you cant miss in your trip to Tanzania, on this our one day trip expedition, we would spend an entire day in Tarangire National Park, exploring one of the most important national parks of Tanzania and we would have the oportunity to spot some of the most iconic wildlife of this amazing country,

We would take you in an amazing safari tour experience throw Tarangire National Park on a confort 4x4 safari vehicle and a friendly guide that would explain you about the history of this park and the wildlife that lives in it .

 

Activities of Tarangire One Day Trip:

 

1. Driving to Tarangire National Park

>> We would pick up you very early at 6am from your hotel in Arusha and will drive around 1.5 hrs to the entrance of Tarangire National Park, we will bring a Box Lunch and take it as breakfast on the Entrance of the park.

 

 

2. Moorning Safari in Tarangire Looking for Carnivores and Big Cats

Early moorning is the best time for looking for the carnivores and specialy for the big cats in their natural habitat, with some luck we would be able to spot lion, leopard, wild dog, foxes hyena, and if we have good luck even the amazing cheetah, (if you want to increase chances to spot this animals we higgly reccomend to camp inside the park and hire a night safari),  we would also spot some of the most iconic hervibores of the park, like the zebra, elephants, giraffe, buffalo, impala, gaselle, antilopes, etc

 

 

>> Close to the rivers we would find with some animals like hippos, crocodiles, elephants and some other animals looking for refreshment.

 

3. Lunch and Landscape Sightseeing

At 12pm we will make a pause on the safari to take some lunch in a picnic spot inside the park, afterwards we will visit the most beautyful sightseeing points to admire amazing landscapes, few more animals rest a bit in some of this points and take some refreshments since is the hottest point of the day.

 

 

4.Afternoon Safari and Return to Arusha

Around 2:30pm we go on safari again and visit different spots of the park following the Tarangire River, we would spot mostly herbivores and maby some carnivores and other animals around, at 5:30pm we finish our safari and head out to the entrance of the park to be out at 6pm, heading out of the park we still have some chances to spot some wildlife, we would drive to Arusha, finishing our tour around 8:00pm

 

 

5. Night Safari (Optional aditional cost)

Tarangire is one of the few parks in Tanzania that offers night safaris, we would visit the park at night looking for nocturnal animals and is perfect to spots animals like lions and leopards, hyenas, etc

We would go with a profesional guide of the park on a night tour in Tarangire and will have a different experience enoying also the beautyfull sky sightseen with millons of stars glowing on the sky.

Also camping in the park,  we will increase a lot our chances to spot incredible wildlife like the carnivores and the iconic big cats that inhabit in the park like Lions, and we would increase chances to spot a cheetah or a leopard.

Visiting Tarangire National Park for 2 days or more we reccomend to spend half day in Maynara Lake National Park, surrounded by lush vegetation and amazing sightseeing landscapes, Maynara National Park is home of the famous Maynara Climbing Lions and blue monkeys. this place will offer us an amazing experience and we will visit the home of Timon and Pumba, one of the most amazing jungles of Tanzania.

  • BEST BEST BEST We are group of friends and wanted to see Serengeti and Ngorongoro. After searching and communicating with bunch of companies, we chose this one and we have no regrets šŸ™‚ First, communication was fast and without any problem. They were waiting for us in Arusha airport and left us in the aiport on our way back again. It was taking care of us the whole time. The special thanks belongs to Basso, amazing clever tour guide who give us unforgettable memories! He is really a special man and thanks to him, we have experience for rest of our lives.
